#487154, "Drop Snack?????"

My kids are three there schedule is:

Wake 6:30
Milk 7:00
Breakfast 8:30
Lunch 11:30
Nap 12:00-2:00
Snack 2:30
Dinner 5:00-5:30
Milk 6:30
Bed 7:30

Latelly they have been awful at dinner, barely eating anything. Just wondering if at some point you drop their snack. I have tried to make snack small maybe only a yogurt and some cheerios or a cheese stick or something but it still doesn't matter.

Aprreciate any thoughts.

Thanks.

It wouldn't hurt to drop it and see if it helps eating dinner. I never gave an afternoon snack in the first place until now. My kids are in kindergarten and it is a really long time between lunch and dinner. Once your kids stop napping I would push lunch back and then they really won't need a snack.

I've dropped the afternoon snack, because my kids weren't hungry for their dinner either. It has worked for us, so I'd say it's definitely worth a try. You can always go back to feeding them their regular afternoon snack the next day if it doesn't work out. Alternatively, you could just try no pm snack, feed them their dinner earlier if they are crabby, and possibly give them a light snack before bed if they still seem hungry. Either way, I think you'll have your answer after trying it.

It seemed like a long time to go between lunch and dinner - 5 hrs - but given that they're sleeping for half that time, mine able to make it just fine. Good luck.

I'd drop the snack too. My girls are only a few months younger than yours and with one in particular, if she gets a snack - even if it's just a small bag of fruit snacks - she doesn't eat much dinner. I usually only give them a snack if they ask for one, which they sometimes don't.
