#487085, "Twin Bed Set Up"

We are moving our nearly 3 year olds to twin beds son. DH made all of them from scratch and did a great job. He actually has not started the third yet so we are thinking about a trundle (not sure yet). Anyway, if we continue with simply 3 twin beds, I was just wondering how everyone sets their beds up in a small room? Does anyone line all 3 beds up next to each other as though they were one large king bed?

Thanks,

Jennifer

My only worry with all 3 lined up is how the one sleeping in the middle would get out to go to the bathroom at night.
Our 3 girls all shared a queen bed from 5-7 but since it didn't have a footboard, she could climb out the end.
Does your design have a footboard?

We came up with kind of an 'invented design' that has worked well for us. I posted a pix on it a couple years ago but don't know if I could find it! Essentially, we bought trundle style twin beds with the bottom bed coming out from underneath the higher one at a right angle. For the third bed we attached a twin frame to the headboard of that lower bed so that made two twins end to end that shared a headboard. I know it's probably confusing, but it has worked out great. My trio are now 9 and still sleep comfortably in them. The only downside is the bed that is partially under the top bed is a little tricky to make up, but it looks pretty triplet cool!!

Ellyn and the lucky 13!

We had a trundle from age 7-12. Everyone loved the trundle because they could just push the bed under instead of making it!

Thanks all for the feedback. In the end, the only way they fit was all 3 lined up!
