#486607, "Tuttle Girls arrived on 10/20 birth story"
Hi Everyone!
I've been wanting to post about the arrival of the girls since they were born on 10/20, but things have obviously been quite hectic!
I had my scheduled c-section on 10/20 at 35+6 weeks pregnant. There was a little bit of concern that I might have to be under general anaesthesia or wait to deliver because my platelets dropped to 84. After some discussion though everyone agreed it was ok to do the c-section. Everything went smoothly after Baby A, Paisley Rose was born at 12:06 pm weighing 5 lbs 4 oz, Baby B, Vivienne Rose was born at 12:07 weighing 5 lbs even, and Baby C, Lille Rose was born at 12:08 weighing 4 lbs 13 oz.
Vivenne was sent right away to the regular nursery. Both Lille and Paisley were sent to the NICU for rapid breathing. Lille was put on cpap and Vivienne was put on nasal canula at first. By that night they were both on room air and their breathing was normal. Paisley spent 2 days in the NICU and joined us on Saturday.
Unfortunately, Lille is still in the NICU due to mild bradys. She has been getting a lot better and has only been having one or two a day. The last time she had one was over 24 hours ago. Unfortunately she needs to have a 5 day period of no bradys before they will let her go home, so we're hoping for Sunday or sometime early next week. Otherwise she's doing great....has no iv's, eating well, out of the incubator, and only mild jaundice. I have to say though that leaving her at the hospital was one of the hardest things I've ever done!
So we're adjusting to life with 2 at home plus two older kids. It's been a whirlwind of feedings, nursing, pumping, etc etc. The c-section recovery blew me away. I wasn't really prepared for how difficult that would be but have been feeling much better since being home, which happened Monday.
Anyway, thanks for all your support through the pregnancy process! I'm sure I'll be using this board a lot in the future too for all the coming challenges!

Sounds like it was pretty magical. Congrats on growing those girlie girls to a nice healthy weights. I so agree on the C-section recovery. I had seven natural births before the triplets and nothing prepared me for the painful recovery of surgery. We made it through though!
Hope Lilie gets to join her sisters soon. We had one who had to be left behind too, for an extra two weeks. That was so hard. When he finally was cleared, we took his brothers back up to the NICU and we all came home TOGETHER. That was sweet!

Hi Everyone!
Thanks so much. It looks like we are bringing her home tomorrow! We are so excited. She hasn't had any more bradys in the past five days and is gaining weight even though she's not quite finishing her feedings. Hopefully today will be our last NICU visit!
