#479, "retaining a triplet one grade in school"

We are concerned parents of triplet girls age 9 they are in the 3rd grade and after having parent/ teacher conferences, the school recommended that one of the triplets be held back a year. One of our concerns is her self esteem and what it will be like for her with her sisters and friends as they move up a grade and one is staying behind. The triplet who is in question is on a different pace level compared to her sisters is getting tutoring and work modification and we give her additional help to help her academically. If anyone has any experience of keeping one triplet back we would like to hear your story and hear what the negative impact was on keeping one child back and its impact on the relationship with siblings and friends. Please contact me if you can at: yoliguti1@netzero.com

thank you
