#2709, "24 weekers born 3-11-07...lost baby Georgia on 4-6-07"

We had our ggg at 24 weeks.
Georgia, Nina and Livia were doing great in NICU until Georgia's PDA opened for 3rd time and they were going to operate. Then later that night they called to say she developed infection and to hold off on operation. Next day infection was getting worse and she stopped peeing and was shutting down on us..Her stomach was super distended and she was gray/ 4 hours later she was trying to poop and part of her bowel came out. Long story short we had her operated on to see what the deal was in her stomach. She had a hole in colon and small intestine was dead. Nothing to do but let her go... We buried her this past Wed.
My Nina and Livia are doing good. It's so hard to focus on survivors and grieve sweet Georgia. I am grateful that I was able to do Kanagroo with her a few days before all of this happened.
I just wanted to share.
Judith

Judith,

I know I read of this on the main forum and I've also visited your website. I am sorry for your loss of Georgia and I am so glad you had the opportunity to kangaroo her.

My continued prayers for Nina and Livia to continue to grow and strengthen so that they can come home within a few months.

Again, my deepest condolences.

Marie

Im very sorry for your loss. I also read the post in the main forum and visiteed your page. I also lost my DD to NEC and perforations in her bowels. I find comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven, where she is enjoying a painfree life, and where she can "eat" all she could never have eaten on earth. Its just a thought that gets me through the day. I will always carry her, and her brother, in my heart and miss them dearly though.

I pray that you find peace and strength to go on, and to endure the following months in the NICU. I also pray that your little Nina and Livia have a smooth NICU stay.

May God bless you and your family,
Monique

Judith,
I am so sorry for your loss of your sweet Georgia- I'm sorry she suffered so... I'm praying for you today. My boys were almost the same age as your girls. It is my prayer that Georgia and Joshy, Caleb, and Nathaniel are playing together in heaven tonight.
Love and peace to your broken heart.
Alyssa

I am so sorry for your loss. It is such a horrible thing to be struggling through the NICU while dealing with the grief of losing a baby.

Please know that you are welcome here. Try to be gentle on yourself. Most of us in your circumstances have found that the grief of loss only really begins to hit once we have our survivors home "safe" with us. Knowing to expect this may be helpful in the future...

Good luck to you and I will continue to pray for your babies.

Fondly,

It is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. In memory of Carina, who was greatly loved.
