#4145, "Latest News on Raquel and Eliana"

Raquel would appreciate prayers right now. She is just finishing up 35 weeks and is miserable -- still on hospital bedrest and now on Terbutaline. Last measurements showed Eliana to be 5 pounds 2 ounces, but they will be performing another amnio in about a week to see if she is ready to say hello to the great outdoors.

We prayed for 30 weeks and then for 34 weeks. It looks like Raquel may reach the 36 to 38 week mark, but she is physically exhausted and miserable and fighting some depression as a result of the very extended bedrest. All prayers will be greatly appreciated as she finishes up this marathon. She remains hopeful that Eliana will be 6 pounds when she arrives and that she'll simply room in and go straight home with her mommy and daddy.

For all of our members who are now pregnant, please know that we now have two in a row who have carried pregnancies to the 35 week mark. Please be encouraged and know that we are also praying for you and your pregnancies.

Fondly,
Cat w/3 Kittens
Caidan, Carina and Caeleigh
Born at 31 weeks, 1/8/04.
It is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. In memory of Carina, who was greatly loved.

Raquel- Hang in there mama - you're almost there!!! On a lighter note - you need to have a little talk with Miss Eliana and discuss the advantages of her staying put until April so she can score the the diamond birthstone!! Seriously, I'm so proud of you, and I'm praying that she plumps up to 6 pounds soon and that her lungs mature just as well.

Raquel -

You are in the home stretch - good for you! My daughter was born right at 35 weeks so I don't actually know what those last few weeks are like, but I can imagine you are climbing the walls. Many prayers that Eliana stays put for another few weeks.

Raquel,

That's wonderful news. I wish the best for you, your husband and baby Eliana. Prayers that Eliana will continue safely growing for a few more weeks until she makes her grand entrance.

We're still thinking of you and praying hard. You've done an awesome job cooking your baby girl already. You continue to inspire the rest of us. Hang in there. That light at the end of the tunnel is sooo close.

Hang in there Raquel, I know it must be so hard. I'm hoping to hear you have a healthy baby girl rooming in with you in a few weeks. You give me so much hope that I can make it this time!
