#1103, "Car with 5 LATCH seats?"

My husband and I just found out we are having triplets; not yet sure of the gender of each child. This adventure is being added to an already exisitng 3 year old and 1 year old.

My question: are there any cars out there that come with 5 LATCH seats? We have seen many cars with 4, but not yet 5. Would be OK with a mini-van, but prefer not a regular full-size van option.

Any advice?

Don't focus on Latch.

Read the manual for most cars and it will state latch cannot be used for children or children + seat combinations that weigh more than 40 lbs.

All of my kids are under 30 pounds at this point.

Also, what should I foucus on then if not Latch connections?

Assumptions:
1) You plan to buy a car and keep it for several years.
2) You plan to keep your children in car seats until they are 6 to 7 years old. Children are much safer in a five point harness car seat than the POS boosters.

In a few years, your children will be over 40lbs and sitting a Radian 80 seat and they will be too heavy to use the latch attachment points.

Simply find something that has enough shoulder and lab belts to secure the car seats.

Next year your children will be:
4 years old
2 years old
3 months
3 months
3 months

If you are willing to climb over seats and contort youself in the name of vanity, you can pack your crew in most any van or SUV. The biggest problem is securing two or three of the babies in the third row seat.

Our 12 passenger van has worked very well for us. With the doors on both sides, we can load our four 18month olds without stepping into the van.

My husband and I have triplet boys and after much research we bought the 2009 honda pilot. the latch system is on all six seats. we comfortably fit the infant seats across one row and still have another row of seats or extra trunk pace which we need with the strollers. I think your challenge here is trunk space. good luck.
