Both parents need to work out their schedules that will suit both -- and the kids.

The story given by the wife is pretty one-sided, even with the appearence of trying to be "fair". I would like to have more of the husband's point of view in order to have a balenced view of the situation.

Perhaps the dad could quit the week-end job and the mom could get a job on the week-ends so that she could have the calm joyful experience of a long commute and time away from her kids and the house.

Other than that, I would suggest patience -- the babies will not be babies for very long and the situation at home will change dramatically when the kids go to kindergarten.

I happen to be married to a type A workaholic type -- she was raised on an Australian diary farm. I am more of a laid-back graying hippy dude. She works 32 hours a week, I work 20, and we both have secondary jobs (she has an internet-based buisness and I am an artist).

Dw will never be as laid back as I think she should be and I don't think I will ever be as busy as dw would like me to be. So, we have had to work a lot out as far as expectations of what the other spouse should be doing. It is a work in progress for us both.

Best of luck!
