#575, "ok need some advice.."

Ok guys... serious question, and before you all say it, yes I know I'm crazy.

background.. with the 8 children my wife and I now have between us, I have a 15 month old son that lives 8 hours away. I drive up once a month to spend time with him.

Due to visitation agreement, at this time the only way I get to see him is if I drive up there. My son's mother does not meet me half way.

Now the question. This month has been very busy.

Between work, two of the girls coming home so far I have not had any free time on the weekends.. until the 28th.

So.. going to drive up that weekend.

On the 27th however is when my vasectomy is scheduled.

I can hear the groans from here, but yes... my current plan is to have the surgery at 2 pm on the 27th, and then leaving at 2 am on the 28th for an 8 hour drive.

I know there will be pain, and I'm taking ice packs left over from when my wife was sent home from the hospital... but need to know if anyone else has any advice

Ok.. let the laughing begin...

I have not been thru a cut but I have been thru a needle proceedure which I know nobody wants to hear about. I say be a man and go for it, just take alot of pain meds with you or do alot of drinking when you get there.

Greg,

Why don't you reschedule the vas? You probably want to spend quality time with your son. This will not be possible if you are drugged up on pain meds. Taking them while trying to drive eight hours is not a good plan either. You have other recourse in the birth control department until you can get the surgery done....

Regards,

John

My vas went bad. But I'm not going there.

Just bring plenty of ice and maybe a small inner-tube/inflatable donut thing to sit on.

Too painful for me to think about....put it off, have fun with your son.
