*Vent On*
We moved the girls into their own cribs this weekend and up into the nursery. First night went splendid, Emma was our only waker, which she always is. Last night was another story though...everyone got up...all night long. I think we both got a cumulative 45 minutes sleep. Emma was hungry at first...wife nursed her, she went back down. Lily got up, nursed her, went back down. Emma got up...not even the holy grail of boobs did the trick...she wailed. It was like Whack-a-Mole, one would go down and another would pop up. I'm sure it had to do with the new scenery and sounds or what not...but we're both draggin' today. We were tempted to try CIO but from what we could remember in our sleep deprived fog is that they are just on the brink of the age where they recommend doing it. Tonight we may just put the noise machine on and only wake up if it's loud enough to cut through the white noise...

OY! Did you wear treads into the floor walking back and forth between their cribs? Did you fall asleep holding binkies in mouths while standing over their cribs? It totally sucks! Here's hoping you get a little more sleep tonight!!! It can only get better, right? Please tell me yes? Right???

My singleton still wakes up in the middle of the night and she's 2 years old.
With the boys, they came home on monitors so the first two months we didn't use a baby monitor at all. We were feeding every 3 hours and knew the monitors would go off if there was a probably (a few times even if there wasn't). If they were really upset they would cry loud enough that we could hear them in our room anyway.
I'm not sure if during that time they learned to self sooth, or if they are just way better sleepers then our DD. Sometimes now I leave the baby monitor off and when they wake we usually hear them crying. So that might be an option if they are just doing little grunts and need to learn to get back to sleep on their own.
If you think one of your trio is walking the others, then you could try splitting them up. One of the bloggers I read has twins and she had to put one of them in the livingroom as she's wake her brother up all the time. Just a thought.
Good luck! Christina
