#59, "Schedules???"

I've recently been working on my boys schedule and thought it might be helpful if I could see a few different schedules from other people. I'm always open to better ideas from other people. Thanks!

My beautiful boys born on 6/8/2008:
Rowan 2 lbs 10 oz
Elliott 2 lbs 7 oz
Finn 2 lbs 5 oz

My babies are almost 4 months. Here is what we do:

6:30- Wake up, 6 ounce bottles
-Back in cribs for as long as they will go. Momma wants to sleep! Then, up, get dressed and swings, usually all by 8:30.
-Playtime or mini nap in swings depending on the night!
9:30- 6 ounce bottle
- Nap for 1 hour in bed
- Playtime and Baby Einstein
12:30- 6 ounce bottle
- Nap in bed for 1 1/2 - 2 hours
-Wake up, playtime or swings
3:30- 6 ounce bottle
- Nap for 1 hour in bed or less
-Playtime and Baby Einstein
6:00- bath time
6:30- 6 ounce bottle and bed

They usually sleep until either 2 or 3 and then we do a dream feed of 4 ounces and then back to bed.

Whew!

I would LOVE to go to a 4 hour schedule, but it never seems to work. Also, we are working on naps. The morning and afternoon are sometimes short or in swings, but the 12:30 nap is ALWAYS in bed. We let them CIO, but never for more than 5 minutes. They go to sleep great. I would also love to drop the night feed, but I guess I can't complain too much.

Maybe Santa will give me that for Christmas!!

HTH!

We still follow a 3 hour feeding schedule during the day. So they eat there first bottle somewhere between 7-7:30 a.m. We always start our day at this time. They eat every 3 hours until 7-7:30 p.m. and they they go to bed somewhere between 8-8:30 p.m. I have 2 that sleep until 5-6 a.m. and we give them a small bottle and they go back to sleep unitl 7-7:30. This monring they slept until 6:30 a.m. so we feed them and made that the first bottle and the next will be at 10:00 a.m. and we'll follow every 3 hours from there. My smaller girl will sleep until somewhere between 2-4:00 a.m., eat and then back to sleep until 7-7:30 a.m. We feed all 3 of them at the same time so they are on the same schedule during the day. In between the 3 hour feedings we have naps but they aren't structured yet and we have play time in chairs, bumbos, playmat, swing, etc. We do baths every other day before their last bottle. We plan on moving them to a 4 hour schedule during the day after their 4 month appt. or when we start solids; I haven't decided yet. I really want them sleeping the full 12 hours before I mess with their daytime routine since it's going so well. I hope that makes sense!

Our boys were 4 months old when we put them on a nap schedule (we were already on a feeding schedule). Here's what it was:

7:30am - up and bottle
9:00am - down for nap #1
10:00am - up from nap - time to play on activity mat, bouncy chairs, tummy time, etc.
11:30am - bottle
12:30pm - down for nap #2
3:00pm (give or take 30 minutes) - up from nap, time to play
3:30pm - bottle
5:15pm - down for nap #3
6pm - up from nap (when they were 6 months we added a solid feeding here)
7:30pm - 8:00pm - change for bed, bottle and put to bed

Shortly after implementing this schedule (like a matter of weeks) they were sleeping through the night. Before that we would offer a small bottle to whoever woke up - that was generally around 4 or 5 am.

Right now we are doing:

6A - Wake up, diaper changes, bottles
7:30 - Nap
8:30 - Wake up, diaper changes
8:45/9 - Solid feeding, 6-7 oz total of fruit, cereal, and/or yogurt
10 - Bottles
11 - Nap
12:30/1:30 - Wake up on their own, diaper changes
2 - Bottles
3 - Nap
3:30 - Babies wake up, diaper changes
4 - Solid feeding, 6-7 oz total of meat, veggies, and/or cereal
6 - Bottles
7 - Bedtime

It has served us well for the last 4-5 months but we have to change it up soon as my kids are dropping that third nap and we want to drop the fourth bottle. Ugh! Once you get into a good rythem it changes on you... LOL

Hi ladies,

My GGG triplets are now 5 months old and we just made some changes in their schedule that really seem to be working well. We dropped the extension of sleep nap in the am as well as the evening nap. So, it goes like this:

7:30 wake feed cereal/fruit and 6 oz bottle
playtime and changes
9:30 nap
11:30 or 12 feed cereal/fruit and 6 oz bottle
playtime and changes
2 or 2:30 nap
4:30 or 5 feed cereal/fruit and 6 oz bottle
playtime/walk/every other day baths
8 or 8:30 last 6 oz bottle and sleep through the night:)

Hope it helps. Happy Thanksgiving!
Kim
