#1384, "Typical Schedule"

Hi There - I'm new to this forum and very excited to have found it! I have 12 month old BBG triplets (10 mnths adjusted) and was wondering if I'm on the right track as far as their schedule goes. I have no one to compare it to. Here's our typical day:

7am - wakeup have milk and play
9am - morning nap
10am - I wake them up (if I don't they don't go down for their afternoon nap and therefore way too cranky to last the evening without another nap)
10:30am - milk followed by solids
12pm - nap as long as they need
2:30pm - milk followed by solids
4-6pm - walk or read or play
6:30pm - milk followed by solids
between 7:40-8pm - another bottle and then bedtime

Would love to see what other parents have their schedules like just to compare and maybe tweak mine. It works for us but I'm not sure I should be giving them a full bottle of milk and then solids at this point. I think maybe they would eat more solids if I didn't? How do you work that out in a schedule if I chose not to.

Thanks!
guppal

My schedule is different but my trio has been eating 3 meals (solids) plus two snacks for quite awhile and have been self feeding since about 8 months. That is pretty early in general according to our pedi though. We also were having a lot of nap problems around 11 months and dropped down to one nap, and this made for much happier children for us. Here is our typical day though:
6:30am wake up, dressed, sippy, and play while I make breakfast.
7-7:30ish am: Breakfast, sippy
After breakfast we play, sometimes watch Little Einsteins or Sid the Science kid
About 8:30-9am: Snack, sippy
Play
10:45-11ish am Lunch
11:30-12 go down for our nap (they sleep about 2 hours on average)
After our nap we get up, snack, sippy, and then pick up their big sister from school
Play
4:45pm dinner and sippy
Play
Bedtime routine starts about 6pm (bath nights is a little earlier)
Between 6:30-7pm they go to bed

I forgot to address your other questions...sorry. We switched from bottles to sippies right before then turned 12 months. They will only do the straw sippies though which is better for them anyway. They get a sippy with the meals (also before bed, and non milk sippies throughout the day)
At 12 months old and older their main source of nutrition should be solids. If you want to offer a bottle after their meals that would work too (just depends on what you are comfortable with and want to do).
With all this being said, my guys LOVE food, and never had any feeding issues that way. They prefer to eat solids.

Thank you! It helps a lot seeing what others out there are doing. I'm going to switch to something close to what you have (minus the 6:30 wakeup ).

Thanks again!

Yay I would change that... but they are just early wakers. Can't wait for the daylight savings time to change! I'm not going to adjust them and then their bedtime will be 7:30pm and hopefully a 7-8am wake up <hopeful>

I should mention that I took a peek at your blog and loved it. My husband keeps one for our kids and it's a wonderful diary for all of us

I watched the video you posted for the kids first b.day (very cute!) and loved the pictures of the kids doing crafts with pudding. What a wonderful idea! Do you have any more kid friendly crafts up your sleeve? Looking for ideas on what to do with the little ones since we're up in Canada - in a city that is so cold during the winter months that it's tough to take them out on a daily basis.
