Another week down. Can you believe Thanksgiving is in two weeks? We aren't doing too much this week. The kids have yet another cold and I think I am getting it. This has been a pretty mild cold so things could be worse.

We are having a lot of sleeping issues here. I love these phases. Add a cold on top of that and things are worse. They would not go to sleep last night and then all woke up at some point. Children and parents are tired today. Katie has had 3 meltdowns before 10am...and she didn't even get out of bed until almost 8:30. It is going to be a long day. Going to the grocery store this afternoon by myself is going to feel like a vacation. They have a Starbucks and I'm getting a Venti. For those with older kids, do they ever start sleeping better?

We are going to a birthday party for our neighbor's kids on Sunday assuming the kids are healthy enough. They have a 2 year old and 1 year old and are having a combined party. I've been tying to teach the kids appropriate party behavior like not opening other people's presents or blowing out their candles. I keep talking about Can You Teach Your Alligator Manners. Those of you who watch the Disney Channel will know what I mean.

Have a great week.

Sorry you are having a tough time. We are also having sleeping issues with my DD. She has learned how to climb in and out of her bed so it has been making life tough. I keep finding her asleep on the floor or in one of her brothers beds. And at nap time she refusses to sleep so she climbs out and plays the whole time. Then a few hours later she is GRUMPY!!! Any ideas of how to keep her in??? She sleeps in a pack and play becasue it is closer to the ground, so I don't fear her hurting herself.

I am with you I can believe Thanksgiving is getting so close. We are still trying to decide which family we are goignto spend it with. I would love to just stay home and sleep in but it doesn't seem like that is going to happen.

Well I am at work right now and our system is down so I am getting to play. Lucky Me!

Good luck at the birthday party!!

PS Has anyone else noticed the REALLY big Halloween pic on in the top right corner. Very cute pic but man it takes up the whole page.

I can't wait until Disney creates a show: Can You Teach Your Alligator It's Not Cool To Pee On the Floor, or Can You Teach Your Alligator That Clothing is Meant For Wearing.

This week started out a little bumpy, but I think it's going to turn around today. We've got sleet coming down right now and I have to drive over an hour (one way) to attend a lecture at my college. I had to arrange a bizarre triangle of pick-ups and drop-offs for the girls, turning this 1-1/2 hour lecture into 4+ hours of driving time. But I'll be child-free!!!

Anyone live near me (in Iowa)? Wanna get together for a drink this weekend??? I'm completely serious. Sans children, of course!

Tanna, they make crib tents for pack and plays. We bought one for my parents' house because DS sleeps in a PNP there. We got it at walmart.com and used the ship to store option so we didn't have to pay shipping.

Sorry to hear about your sleeping issues. Unfortunately, I can relate all too well.

I was just going to list a pnp canopy on Ebay if you are interested in it. I think you can buy them (new) cheapest at Walmart... that's where we got ours a while back. Anyways, let me know if you would like to buy it... it does work. E-mail is kimme7 @ sbcglobal dot net (no spaces).

Oh~ is this thread a weekly thread to keep everyone in contact? I must have missed the others.

Thank

I love the idea of the Can you teach your Alligator that clothing is meant for wearing. Part of Alyssa therapy is learning to take off and put on clothing (on now, anytime we get up from nap, she is sans cloths. Luckily the diaper has stayed on). I guess I should be thankful that the therapy is working.

This week has been and continues to be crazy.

We had speech evals for Makenna and Isabelle yesterday (and I had an interview for a job). Makenna decided to say things that we have never heard her say before for the therapist, so no therapy for her. Isabelle wouldn't talk at all, so it looks like therapy for her. Alyssa is already getting it.

Tomorrow we have to be at the State Captial of GA at 6am for a MOD interview and a presentation for the assembly for Prematurity Awareness Month.

Wednesday is speech therapy, Thursday is OT.

And FRIDAY, my best friend is taking me out for a mom's day out without the kiddos. Massage, pedi, movie, and food. YEAH! Life is good.

And my dad gets home from South Africa on Saturday for an entire month.

Loren, if I was in Iowa, I would so be there, but unfortunately we are too far away. How is the sorting of the bead diaster going?

The bead sorting is not happening. It's my chore for tonight. Luckily, I had pulled a bunch out the day before, and they're safely hidden where the girls can't get them!

Maybe we could have an over-the-internet glass of wine? lol

This week started out with the boys' annual evaluation for Early Intervention. Jacob tested out of the program entirely. The therapists were actiually going into the three and four year old sections of the tests to get a score on him. Noah and Samuel both tested out of everything except the speech portion. This means that Noah still qualifies for all services based on the dealy in speech. Samuel still qualifies for everything based on his CP diagnosis. Amy and I are going to keep Samuel in both OT and PT to help with his CP as well as speech. Noah is going to continue in speech and will probably have both OT and PT although maybe not every week as we do now.

We are also three weeks away from Samuel's eye doctor appointment at John Hopkins in Baltimore. It has been a pain getting the hospitals to release all of the imaging and reports from his IVHs because of all of the required releases you have to sign. We are looking for a second opinion on his eyes before we make any decisions regarding surgery.
