#34, "HI everyone!"

First, I'm so happy this new forum was started! It's good to see so many familiar names!!

Now, has anyone else had a problem with a lot of sickness? For the past 2 months, mine have had one thing after another:

Fever and no appetite – all three ( one at a time)
Then…
Colds – mild
Then…
Stomach virus – lasted 7 days for Luke and Wade and 2 days for Zoe
And now…
Luke and Wade are running a fever, and all three have snotty noses.

I don't know where they are picking all this up from. I wash my hands so much they are raw. I use lysol around the house. When we go out to eat I clean the table top with " Lysol anywhere" spray cleaner. I wash their hands after they are out in public. It's like my kids no longer have immunity for anything!

Luke- 4lb,12oz
Wade - 3lb,4oz
Zoe - 5lb,2oz

We have had more than their normal illnesses here too. I think it is just because we are actually going out in public more. The first year they were quarantined. The second year it was such a pain to take one year olds out. Now we are going out and they don't have immunity built up. I've heard it is worse once they start pre-school.

We keep battling cold after cold too. I'm thinking it is because we are out in public more and the kids are more active with other kids. This current cold is pretty bad (my son often ends up in the ER wheezing with colds) and I'm just hoping they will feel good enough to go trick-or-treating.

No stomach viruses yet, thank goodness!

Feeling your pain here as well. We have been battling cold after cold here. We were doing so well until my son started preschool and now we can't seem to get healthy. It's looking like we are going to be skipping the "triplet" halloween party my friend is throwing. I couldn't go in good conscience knowing I could infect 6 more kids. My ped's office was saying it's been an early season this year. Yippee!

This is how it was for us two winters ago. They really do build up an immunity because this year the colds are mild by comparison. I think you just have to get through this to get to the other side! Hang in there!

Michele is right. My boys were sick a lot the year before preschool (3 years old). We had a fair amount of sickness last year and missed a bunch of school.

So far in kindergarten - we have had one cold that lasted only a few days and resulted in 1 missed day by one of the boys. The only reason we kept him home was to go to the Dr. because he had a mild ear infection.

It does get better.

Just got two children out of the hospital for Pneumonia and they are still o2 dependent at night. The other four have been battling this stupid cold that has gone round and round and round.

I love fall/winter, but this sickness stuff is for the bird! UGH!

This happened to us too. I asked the ped and she said that between the ages of 1-3, most kids average 13 sicknesses. So, factor in 3 kids getting sick together and it is rough! The good news is that once they turned 2 and started taking vitamins, we only get sick once a winter--or so. We just got done with stomach flu and pink eye, at the same time. Hang in there, it will get better.

We have had a month of pnemonia is our house. Six out of the seven of us have been on antibioitics! The latest thing is my daughter seems to be having some sort of stomach bug! It seem early in the season for us to be sick!
