My girls have their first class picture in Kindergarten scheduled on Mar. 6. I know this isn't a really important issue but it seems to be taking up a lot of my brain space! My trio does not typically dress alike. Did you dress yours alike in the the class pic? Also did you purchase one class pic or one for each of your children? If I purchase one for each of my girls (including their big sister in 3rd grade) then I am looking at $40 worth of just class pics. Thanks for any advice you can give!

My girls dressed the same and I only bought one pic. They will have to fight over it when they are older, I guess . My girls dressed the same for the pic because they dress the same about 99% of the time. I think that is a personal choice. HTH

Mine rarely dress the same unless a couple of them get the bug to be "twinsies". But their idea of twinsies could be both wear a pink a shirt that doesn't match in any other way.

So for class pictures (mine are 2x2) I don't care. Heck, I can never remember when they are b/c they don't do them the same time they do individuals. My girls chose entirely different outfits for school pictures.

If I could get away with only 1 class photo, I would. But every individual package comes with a yearbook. You can't order ala carte until you've ordered a package. I don't particularly care for the yearbooks...it's elementary school and even the "clubs" don't really mean anything. They choose A day for candids....how does that represent the year?

So, I'll have 5 copies of the yearbook hanging around. I'd rather have them fight it out over 1. FRankly, all I care about from my elementary days is the class picture, but only if the names are attached. None are on mine....we had the little black board where they changed the push-in letters when the class was switched out....you know....back in the "olden days".

Well my kids wear uniform so that was not an issue. If your kids dont normally dress the same then I would not dress them alike for the photo, I think it would be more 'true' to have them as they normally are. I did buy individual photos - I could have had all 3 in the one photo but they are not in the same class and since everyone else was getting an individual photo I did not want them to be different - they are always having to share, lol. Why not do individual ones this year and then group ones from next year - this is what I did

Mine are in three different K classes, so I HAD to buy all three. That being said, last year in Pre-K they were in the same class and I bought three too. Looking back I could have probably bought one, scanned it on the computer and printed off two more.... Lol

Mine are in uniforms too so that was easy. I just bought one class picture and one yearbook. They all took their own individual picture though. They do pictures twice a year, so it can get pricy!! I would let them dress differently otherwise they are really going to stand out in the picture as the "triplets" by everyone. Especially since they dress differently most days.

Mine wear uniforms, so they dress alike in the class picture. When they were in the same class, I only bought one picture. Separate classes = each one of the girls got their own pic. They also offer a combo: class picture and a t-shirt (with the picture on it). I never buy the t-shirt because it's a cheap looking white t-shirt, not worth the money.

For individual pictures, I buy a package for each one. I always coordinate their outfits, usually the same outfit in a different color. Since I work in the library where the pictures are taken, I also have the photographers take a group picture of the triplets and another group picture of all 5 of my girls. I buy them all, so it gets expensive - lol. - Gloria

Thanks for all the great advice. I did ask the girls what they wanted to do and two said to dress different and one said to dress alike. It figures! So I am going to let them pick their own outfits for the picture. I'm just going to buy one and then make my own copies. They will allow a group photo instead of individual pics so that way I can get a pic with all 4 girls in it.

In talking about the cost of triplets in school it makes me think of the talent show/chili supper we had Friday at the girls school. They charged $6 dollars for admission-$1 for each student and $2 for me. Then it was another $2 apiece to buy dinner-so that was $10. Then each girl wanted one book from the book fair so that was $25. The girls each wanted a school shirt but at $10 a pop that was out of my budget. Good grief!!! I realize this is only the beginning but oh my how expensive is this going to get?

I just noticed you were a divorced triplet mom...me too! I haven't met many of them and am glad to connect with you.

As for expenses in school...I had no idea how much "free" school was going to cost me! The first few months I was shelling out money left and right. I was broke and since things like school expenses are all my responsiblity, it was tough. I have them all together this year and it made it a little easier. When the class needs supplies, I just send one box of crayons, etc. One Christmas gift for the teacher, only 25 other birthday parties to attend, etc. Next year the kids have already told me they want to be in separate classes. I am going to tell my ex that he HAS to help with expenses if that's the way we are going. I can't imagine having to donate supplies to three rooms, take 75 cupcakes on their birthday and getting invited to 75 birthdays (highly unlikely, but it COULD happen if I stretch my imagination far enough) and 3 teacher gifts etc. I am already stressing about 1st grade. I feel like I should look into taking out a loan!!! I can't even begin to think about what's going to happen when they get to their senior year in high school with rings, senior pictures, prom....sheeesh!

I home school but my kids are involved with different groups that take pictures (ballet, soccer, music, and art at the co op school). I just had to say no due to cost. I would buy a group shot of their soccer team and ballet group and solo ballet shot (b/c it's included in the tution). The rest I use to take them Wal Mart or Sears and call it a day with better options. Now I have a nice camera and I do it myself. I get nicer shots and I enjoy it. My non-twinkies triplets are force to dress alike. I'll pay for their therapy later for the torture they have to endure for my deep desire to have matchy kids.

Thinking back my collection of photos are like Monster Mom with my school picture group shots of my classmates with little black board on the floor including my grade and teacher's name. The rest my Mom took me to Olen Mills once a year. Once my parents divorced however then all I had was the school shots packages. My parents were too busy to keep up with studio shots yearly.

I never dressed mine the same. For school pictures in the past, I've asked the photographer to do one of the 3 together and then I got 3 separate class pictures. It saved $ and was very cute, the photographer did not seem to mind, talk to the teacher or try to be there to make sure that they do it. I've done the same for my girls dance recital photos, I was there and instead of separate pics, I asked them to pose them together, no one seemed to mind
