#518, "Any moms with Torn Rotator Cuff?"


          

Well, I found out the hard way I can't lift and swing my 6 year olds around anymore! From all my symptoms it looks/feels like a torn rotator cuff. Have an appointment Monday with Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Dr. Have any of you or your friends or DHs experienced this? Was surgery necessary? How long did it take to recover? I'm an outdoor sports person so this is really dreadful. Please send some hopeful reports (if any!)

Good News: Saw my dr. today. It's NOT a torn rotator cuff, TG! He took an x-ray and determined it was tendonitis in shoulder. Big cortisone shot made it feel a little better. Also need PT twice a week for 6 weeks.
Anyway, Just a precautionary warning - try not to pick up your kids anymore after they turn 6. It seems like yesterday they were tiny preemies!! I love picking them up still! Well, now I can't without excruciating pain, so... c'est la vie. They get big SO quick,..where did all that time go? ....sigh.....
