#2514, "Imaginary friends"

In another post, lsmiller told about an imaginary friend "Harold" that her kids had made up.

My DS made up an imaginary friend he named "Bob". Bob lives in his belly button. It is SO weird that he did this out of the blue. He doesn't talk about him everyday. But every now and again he will. One day out of the blue he announced that Bob was on vacation and would be back next week. LOL It cracks me up the things he comes up with that Bob has done. He will even pretend to take Bob out and give him a snack. When we go swimming he will announce how Bob loves to swim or loves the beach. It just cracks me up.

Do your kids have an imaginary friend?

Hey, Ter? Does your DS use his pointer finger to talk and say: Redrum! Redrum! Does he call you "Mrs. Torrance"?

OK. I'm kidding.

I think it's cute he has a little imaginary friend. I think it's a sign of being bright. (Or really bored. I kid again.)

My kids have no imaginary friends, but they make up weird words. They have some weird language going sometimes. I even say some of their words and it cracks them up.

Too funny!! You'll have to write that down and add it to his baby book. You can tell his prom date all about Bob!

My boys laugh when they talk about "Uncle Garrett". We have NO idea who the heck they are talking about and we always felt like they are playing a joke on us. Like their own inside joke.

I wonder if Uncle Garrett is an imaginary friend. How weird that never occurred to me before.

That's funny. My boys used to have an imaginary mom and she was soooo much more fun than me. They would say things like "At my other's moms house I was playing and jumped out the window onto a slide and slid all the way into the pool."

Her house sounded like so much fun I wanted to go!
