Just wondering where you love to shop for your kids' clothes.

As I'm doing some spring cleaning and getting rid of size 5 stuff, I'm realizing: Oh, crap. They have no clothes!

I can't believe the awful styles in stores.

I just want cute clothes that 5 year old girls should wear!

Yesterday? I saw a t-shirt that read: Lollipopolicious.

Um, excuse me? I just want to score some pink cable knit cardigans and some pants. Call me plain and a prude, but seriously. What are some of these styles?

Target and J C Penny's

I was shopping with my neice last year and for the tweenaged girl in your life - a Tshirt with a lollipop on the front with the slogan "How many licks does it take?" under it!

Don't forget Old Navy. I get lots of good stuff at the Mothers of Multiples Clothing sale. It's expeditious too.

Lisa, I buy just about all my girl's clothes at Gymboree. I agree with you the clothes for girls now are awful. My girls will be 6 soon and in size 7/8. So that's basically in the big girls sections now and I might as well give them my clothes to wear. Whenever I can get to the outlets, I like to buy at Oshkosh. My girls are to big for Carter's now and I'm going to miss that. Have fun shopping!

OK. I found some kinda cute stuff at Old Navy. Can you believe I've never really gone there? Not bad.

I never thought of Lands End. That's a good idea, too.

I also found a really cute site - Janie and Jack.

I just want preppy little girl clothes. Why is that so hard? LOL!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Have you seen the latest TC mag? There are some CUTE clothes in there! Too bad they don't list sources!

Be careful with Old Navy. Their clothing looks cute when you buy it, but I have had bad luck with durability. Like after one washing it looks old - faded & pilled & collars crumpled beyond iron-ability. Even jeans - we bought some in November and they have been worn maybe once every other week at most. They are literally threadbare in the hiney & knees. And they aren't by any means stretched too tight or anything, the fabric was just really really low quality. And my kids are not the rough & tumble, tear holes in their clothing kind of kids.

Also, Old Navy's sizing is very inconsistent. You can hold up two dresses that are the same size and one will be several inches shorter than the other. Which doesn't matter for most people who have kids of different ages, but when you have same-age kids, it is VERY obvious that one's dress is much shorter than the other's!

Yeah, I agree about Old Navy. Cute things, but do NOT dry them. The dresses I bought are pretty thin, IMO. The fabric is definitely not the best. But, they were $10 so I got what I paid for, for sure.

And my girls are slowly getting out of size 5 clothes and they had some size 5 dresses that looked perfect for them. Go figure.

I always had good luck at Penny's when my kids were younger. Now I love putting them in Aero T-shirts because they are long and cover the butt crack problem that jeans these days give us.

That drives me nuts! My kids are skinny, and every pair of pants they own has this problem! Hence the reason they wear dresses 90% of the time.

I'll second that about the butt cracks. My one dd is notorious for having it hang out all the time. They have a lot of baby-doll tops just for that reason.
