#4394, "adaptive equipment"
|
Hello everyone,
Now that we've "aged out" of first steps, we really need to buy some adaptive equipment (stroller, chair, bath seat, walker, etc.) for our daughter Zoe, who has cerebral palsy. I'm just bowled over by the prices, and wondering if any of you have hints on forums that facilitate exchange/purchase of second-hand adaptive equipment; foundations that help families find/purchase adaptive equipment, etc.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Rachel,
Since your dd has CP I am assuming that you have her in therapy? Her therapists should be the first ones you go to and try...they will write a letter of need to go to your Pediatrician, then will go through your insurance. If you don't have primary insurance and just have state insurance...same thing.
Our dd is almost 5 1/2 and we just got her a Kid Cart...which is what they call a stroller, and we are in the process of getting a car seat for her.
