Just wondering where you love to shop for your kids' clothes.
As I'm doing some spring cleaning and getting rid of size 5 stuff, I'm realizing: Oh, crap. They have no clothes!
I can't believe the awful styles in stores.
I just want cute clothes that 5 year old girls should wear!
Yesterday? I saw a t-shirt that read: Lollipopolicious.
Um, excuse me? I just want to score some pink cable knit cardigans and some pants. Call me plain and a prude, but seriously. What are some of these styles?

Don't forget Old Navy. I get lots of good stuff at the Mothers of Multiples Clothing sale. It's expeditious too.

Lisa, I buy just about all my girl's clothes at Gymboree. I agree with you the clothes for girls now are awful. My girls will be 6 soon and in size 7/8. So that's basically in the big girls sections now and I might as well give them my clothes to wear. Whenever I can get to the outlets, I like to buy at Oshkosh. My girls are to big for Carter's now and I'm going to miss that. Have fun shopping!

OK. I found some kinda cute stuff at Old Navy. Can you believe I've never really gone there? Not bad.
I never thought of Lands End. That's a good idea, too.
I also found a really cute site - Janie and Jack.
I just want preppy little girl clothes. Why is that so hard? LOL!
Thanks for the suggestions!

Yeah, I agree about Old Navy. Cute things, but do NOT dry them. The dresses I bought are pretty thin, IMO. The fabric is definitely not the best. But, they were $10 so I got what I paid for, for sure.
And my girls are slowly getting out of size 5 clothes and they had some size 5 dresses that looked perfect for them. Go figure.

I always had good luck at Penny's when my kids were younger. Now I love putting them in Aero T-shirts because they are long and cover the butt crack problem that jeans these days give us. Deb Son, 12 GGB, 10

I'll second that about the butt cracks. My one dd is notorious for having it hang out all the time. They have a lot of baby-doll tops just for that reason.

You might try www.crazy8.com. I believe they are owned by Gymboree but cheaper prices. We like Kohls for some things. GL Happy

If you can swing the higher prices (which I cannot), try Hartstrings.com for preppy clothes. While they don't really have preppy clothes, pumpkinpatchusa.com has some really cute things. Also pricey but cute, hannaandersson.com.

A friend suggested Land's End for girls skirts/dresses. I've not tried their jeans but the few skirts I got were nice, and good quality I think. Only trouble is I have to order them as we don't have a store close.
I did find some stuff at Old Navy yesterday for like $2 on clearance. Hopefully it was a deal and it doesn't wear out upon washing and wearing it just a few times. Several years back it seemed like there stuff was higher quality but has gone downhill. They did have lots of spring skirts for the girls but they did seem a bit thin.
I'm lucky in that I have a relative that works at JCPenney's in another state. She buys tons on clearance and then mails it to us. What a blessing. Gotta get a Thanks sent out for her last box of clothes.
You are right about the age appropriate problems. They grow up so fast why rush it?
