I had a c-section after 40 hours of labor with my singelton! By that time I was sooo tired that I didn't care how they got the baby out! I had already had an epidural so they just added the meds to numb me out. I was pretty shakey from all the medication and all I could actually feel we some pulling (like a baby being pulled out), but NO pain. The first time you stand up after totally sucks, but the nurses are awesome! Showering first time in the hospital is a bit*h too, but just know it doesn't last forever. I had my staples taken out before I left (no pain just annoying) and all the other stitches just disappeared! Never had a vaginal delivery, but I've heard both have their annoyances. You'll be ok. I have a pretty raised scar, but I hope they can open up the same scar again and stich me up better. Take all the meds you want, I couldn't go home with percocet, but that stuff is great! I took vicadin for a few days and then was feeling pretty good. Picking up a baby is rough at first, but just get all the help you can.
