IF I remember correctly a child that age needs between 12-15hrs of sleep depending on the child? Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not sure.

Anyway, I would venture to say that the nap is causing the nighttime sleep problems. My ft daughter stopped napping right around 2 1/2--and she was a 3 hour napper. And now at 3 1/2 she will sometimes fall asleep in the afternoon and it wreaks havoc on her nighttime schedule---she stays up late, doesn't want to get up in the morning and is CRABBY!

So if I was you I would probably try dropping the nap and then try putting them to bed around 7:00/7:30. It's not going to be easy, transitioning out of naps is tough. Good Luck.
