You can do it! For almost all babies, there will come a moment where they give in and figure out that sleep is AWESOME, and they can do it all on their own. It was literally like a light switch for us. One night crying. Next night sleeping.

Instead of pulling them out of the crib, I'd try going in and keeping lights off, no talking or shushing, just pat lightly on bottom or rub gently on the thighs for a minute, then quietly leave when they're calmed down. Still give them 10 minutes+ of cry time before going in. They eventually figured out that I wouldn't come in right away and quit crying. We used to keep a stuffed animal above their heads or a rolled-up blanket touching their heads and it seemed to be comforting to them enough that it would help them sleep.

You'll find a trick and it will feel like "Why didn't I think of that SOONER???" Good luck!
