#487852, "RE: bedroom help"

We have 3 girls, 7 years old, and we're getting set up to separate them into two rooms. We're doing it for the very reason that you mention - it's CRAMMED in there!
If that's an option for you, maybe see what the kids say?
I acted very excited about the prospect, told them that someone would have their own room and a bigger bed, and that the other two would share. I asked them to think about it, talk it over, and get back to me on a decision. They all 3 agreed that Kristin would get her own room (she's VERY particular about her stuff and following rules) and the other two would share, something I saw coming since one of them is very sensitive and secretly needs that comfort.
As far as bunkbeds, my parents tried to do them at their house, and the girls were excited at first but in practice, too afraid to stay up there all night. I honestly don't trust them, anyway, and they're not even rough or rambunctious kids! If you do a bunkbed, I'd consider doing the full sized/queen bed underneath and a twin that crosses the end/head of the first bed. They usually (if you get a "kids" one) have the upper bed lower than a typical bunk. Loren GGG Jan.2005 @ 28wks
