tanya- i used the harness type with my singletons on vacations and in crowds. no big deal. i tried them with the trips- 16 months old- just last week and it was hilarious with all of them wanting to go a different direction at t he same time. luckily we were only in our neighborhood but i was being pulled apart. my dd loves to wear hers. she and my 10 year old are starting to play pretend games and of course the 16 month old is the dog or pet of some sort. she asks to put on her harness and she drapes is around her neck and arms. the boys are not so interested. i say give it a try. safety andpeace of mind is more important than public opinion. terri
