I have been a complete wreck the last few days regarding my son Brady. Here's the story: all 3 have been receiving EI services since they were 8 months old. Moved to Denver 10 months ago, continued to get them here. A few months ago, EI cut services because all 3 were reaching all milestones, saying 2-3 word phrases, etc.
Within the last few weeks, my son Brady has regressed with language and speech. Doing more babbling but still able to say some words: juice, please, etc. But he seems like he's in his own world, a lot of times won't answer to his name, and prefers to play alone a lot of the time. He has always been a very picky eater (only eating a total of 8-9 foods) His siblings(GB)always play together, rarely want to play with him and I'm sure he feels left out. But, Brady is the most loving and affectionate out of them all, laughs all the time, loves the park, swimming, etc. His therapists think it may be some kind of auditory sensory issue. I'm freaking out that it could be autism. I know a lot of you moms on here have experienced this and of course I would do whatever it takes to get him the therapy he needs, but does this sound like it could be autism? It is just a sudden change in behavior.
I do have an appt. Aug.16 to have him evaluated by a dev. ped. and OT. And ET is sending out an OT of thier own in the next couple of weeks. Sorry for the long post, I have been in tears about this.
