I think that I've come to the conclusion that if it makes US feel better to correct them and say, "Actually, they're triplets", then we should just do it.

This past week I've said to three different people that they are triplets, all in relation to Julia's doctor's appointments - and not one person blinked or asked what happened or even said they were sorry. I think twice I said Caitlin was stillborn, and the other time I didn't say. It seems to me, then, that we make ourselves feel bad, trying to save others, when the others aren't as upset as we think they will be. And they don't even ask what happened, so we don't have to go into the story; and if they do, I think a simple "she passed away" will do.
