I myself would give her the gift. I'd also talk with the other girls going and suggest that you all tell her you know how significant the days are, and give her the choice of avtivity that day. Maybe she'll want to share it with her friends and do a balloon release or something like that, maybe she'll want to spend it in quiet recollection alone.

Most of all, I would NOT aviod talking about it with her.

There's no way you or anyone can make this better for her, but you can show her you love and support her.
