It depends on the kid. My single guy has been in the jumper for over a month and he is only 4 months now....but he weighs over 18 pounds--LOL. I think my trio were about 6 months when they first started using the jumper. At first they would kind of hang, but in a little while they figured out how to move the thing and they loved it! We too would rotate things...floor to saucer to jumper to bouncy seat, etc. But, if I would have allowed it, I think my Douglas would have stayed in the jumper all day
