Aidan, Connor and Fiona just turned 8 months yesterday but they are not sitting up yet. Well, Aidan pretty much is on his own but he will tumble over after approx 5 minutes. Fiona is so close but she kind of fights it (throws herself back) and Connor is just so squirmy that he will not sit still long enough to get his balance.

We practice with boppy pillows, I sit them b/w my legs and move back little by little but they lose concentration so quickly and fall back. Connor just falls forward and he thinks it's all a game and funny (he is so silly). I put cool and fun toys in front of them so they will play with them but I guess I am a little worried b/c friends often ask if they are sitting up. When I tell them not quite they give me the "Oh!, hmmm, well mine all sat up at six months". Drives me nuts but I hear that a lot of babies do not sit up until nine months so I guess I am looking for a little reassurance that this is okay and they will get it sooner or later.

When did your little ones start sitting up and did you use any other learning tools to help them along with this milestone?
