#494, "break out the cootie spray again..."

Okay, for you youngins that didn't know what the Aurora race car set, and I was unable to impress you...

I decided DH was soooo special, and sooooo good of a Dad, that he deserved a nice new truck for fathers day. So I left work and bought him a Silver 2003 Quad Cab, Dodge Ram. Its only a 2 wheel drive, and its the short bed, but hey, limited budget to work with, and I didn't trade in his 98 4x4 extended cab, which we will use for local running now.

Anywhoooooo. The sticker price was 24855. I got it, on the road, for 20,982. Did I kick some bargain a&&? Or did I get ripped? I figured that with sales tax, tags, and title, that the total came to about 26300, Dodge has 3500 in customer insentives, so they came down another 1900. Good? Bad?

Also for the newbies that have joined, if you are making a vehicle decision, and you don't want a Van or a Suburban, may I recommend the Dodge Quad Cab? We have the extended cab, and the back seat is so wide that there is a good six inches between the car seats that are in there, and it has seen us through three infant carriers, which fit perfectly, and then three 5 point saftey harness car seats, which have about 6 inches of space between them. The bed of the truck of course holds tons of equipment, excersausers, triplet stroller, heck, you could probably put a crib in the back or two!

Also, we've always managed great gas mileage in our Dodge trucks. They are supposed to get 14/19, and the 1998, has been getting closer to 25 on the highway. I'm hopping to get at least that out of this one because its a lot lighter, since there's no 4 wheel drive.
