#21902, "RE: 10 yro and older question"

My guys will be 10 in April and this has been a big issue for us recently. They have always shared a room and when we built our house 6 years ago, we thought about what to do and decided to make one big room with a separate cubby for each ones bed. that has worked well but they really want their own rooms now(actually 2 do, the other is ok with it and may be scared in his own room). So now we are looking at how to redo our house - I am kicking myself as I wish we built it with that in mind. We have the space but it still will cost to reconfigure it. We are telling them that by the time they are 12 we will make sure they have their own space. Like Sharon, my guys have very different personalities and since they are together all the time, it would be nice for them to have something all their own. We also plan to then get them bigger beds as they are tall and the twins will be too small - plus they can then come back with their wives and have their own room (their wives might appreciate not sharing!)
