The kids are 11 now. Our b/b/g trio shared a nursery - 3 cribs - then shared a room with 3 toddler beds until about age 4-5.
We then moved and dd had her own "princess" room and the boys shared a room (twin over full bed but they both boys slept in the full as I just used the twin for storage - they were too little for the upper bunk).
We bought our house when they were 6. It is a 4 bdrm cape - the 2 bedrooms upstairs are the only 2 rooms upstairs. Dd has the smaller room and the boys share the larger room but have 2 twin beds now instead of the full and one of our older boys got the full for his room. He has since moved out and took the bed with him.
Most likely this arrangent will continue as long as we live here.
On the flip side, sadly all of us do share ONE bathroom - LOL.
We made 2 bedrooms in the basement for the older boys but use the 2nd bedroom on the main floor as a tv/school/computer/office room. It was especially great for homeschooling to have a separate space.
FWIW, my trio didn't have a problem being together at all. It was more ME wanting to make a girly room while she was still little since she is the only girl out of our 5.
