What a nice idea.....
We too are chugging along - on the downhill side of FT Kindergarten. They are all together - and have just started the "homework" assignments - the teacher sends a chart of hw for the month....very simple either written or oral, so it is not too bad so far. It is amazing how much they have learned since the Fall - I have 2 very proficient readers and one coming right along.... we are in the throes of shoe tying right now and that is a huge challenge for 2 of them. My older son is 6th grade and I am lucky - he is very self sufficient and a very good student..(sigh - if only his behavior was as good as his academics).... My oldest son is 17 - a junior - life is very complex with him - need I say more - the younger ones are a piece of cake, especially the 5 yr olds! The trips recently had their 1st school "project" - and it was interesting and fun to see their individual creativity come into play.
I have 3 children in dance - Brandon and Lisa in Kinderdance - and Matt in Tap II - so we are preparing for recital season - what fun! We just signed up for T-Ball for the trio - their 1st time - they have played soccer before and done very well - and Matt is doing Spring soccer - Rick is still being 17....argh!
I have to say, as I read the trials and tribs of new moms, so much seems like a lifetime ago and although I miss their being "little" - this stage of our life is really a nice change of pace. I cannot believe the time has passed so quickly and we are now in the season of the school years.
A final note - we do have a new baby in the house - we have adopted a puppy named Luke - a little black lab. We have had him about 6 weeks now - he is 4 months old now and very bright and loveable - although in many ways it is just like a new baby (a lot of work!) - but the kids LOVE him - and the affair is mutual I must say.
Again - this is a nice topic - my life seems a little boring, but for some of the newer moms - boring is something they can look forward to I am sure!
