I can't really tell you how many hours they're awake during the day, only that they tend to nap more earlier in the day and less in the evening. We start the bedtime routine at 9pm. I just finished reading the book "Twelve hours' Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old" and it outlines a great plan that I'm going to try.
