Basically this is the really HARD one. You have to teach them to see from the others perspective. It is a long term goal. You really have to get down on their level and pull from every reserve of patience that you have, but it works. The whole theory behind the class was that rewards teach children to expect something for being good. They are not just doing it because they want to receive something in return and this does not help them as adults. As for punishment it is all about them being too scared to disobey and the it's my way or nothing at all. Listen and do what I say. So the main key is to really listen to what they are saying. WHICH I KNOW is very irritating when they are sobbing in that whiny voice. I will post some specific examples in a few minutes. We are transitioning the girls to big girl beds and I am sitting at their doorway until they are asleep. So far it's working. Wish me luck.
