We have been going through this stage for months now. I honestly feel I have not had a good night sleep since then. My son Jordan gets up every single night around 1/2am and comes and crawls into our bed with this big baby(over sized stuffed bear). Sometimes I do not even know he's there. But he tosses and turns and keep me awake. Then my other son Jagger will wake crying out and since one is already in our bed I feel bad so now we have 2 boys and our dog all in what we once thought was a big king. So, when I do take Jordan back to bed he insists that I lay on the floor until he falls asleep. Then 15min's later he realized he is not in his bed and the cycle repeats for the remainder of the night until I am beyond too tired and give in and let him sleep with us.

Last night was the first night in months he actually only came in once and then stayed in his bed until the morning. So i got a nights rest.

I do not thing the gate thing would work as he would ended up crying at the door waking everyone and me still not sleeping.

I hope this is only a phase and it to will pass.
I feel like I am getting less sleep then when they were babies.
