My kids turned 6 a week after school started. There is a girl in their class who is close to a year younger than they are. She is really struggling though. This year the school district changed the cutoff date to July rather than October. (my 3 could have gone last year; but would have had to wait under the new cutoff)

Overall I'm glad we waited. One of my girls would have been ready last year but my son was not ready. She is in the more advanced reading group which is OK. Better that than having my son struggling because he started too early. It really does depend on the child. If E would have been a singleton I would have sent her last year instead of this year, but I didn't want my triplets to be in different grades and was worried one of them might be held in K for another year.

As for size, my other daughter looks like she is a second grader rather than a kindergartner. Hopefully it won't be too hard on her being one of the bigger kid in class. Though her size almost made me send them last year.
