#131057, " FAA authorized carseat help find"

Hello everyone. I need help finding a faa authorized carseat, the 16"
wide one, flying economy class. DH need to visit DD in Ireland, in 2 wks.
I've tried searching online and no luck. Plus any advice putting the seat in the plane seat and traveling would also be appreciated. My boys are 20month about 30 or 32 lbs. I'm having such a bad time here with trying to pack book tickets, etc. on top of taking care of the boys and home. I am soo frustrated. Please help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We have two on the lap unfortunately. Do those lap vest work well? I'm thinking to get them just so they don't escape or wiggle away during the
8 hrs. UGH! Thank you in advance. Emmy G

Your best bet would be to go into WalMart or BRU with a tape measure. If the carseat is FAA approved it will say so on a sticker on the seat. You could always use the Baby B'Air but it is only approved for the actual flight, not taking off, landing or taxi.. http://www.onestepahead.com/jump.jsp?lGen=detail&itemID=323&itemType=PRODUCT&iProductID=323&change=117 Have you called the airlin and asked them?

When I flew with my group, we used our regular car seats. They were FAA approved and fit without a problem, here are the links...

Hi there,

Before I was a wife and a mommy, I was a flight attendant. Most car seats that are safe for travel in cars are FAA approved these days...If you are travelling on a non-US airline their rules tend to be differnt (they have these secondary lap belts that go around a lap child that they say are safer than car seats!) Anyway, just know that you cannot put more than one lap child in each row (unless you are across the aisle) as there is only 1 extra oxygen mask...most airlines (US) require car seats at the window seat (for evac purposes) or in the middle seat (if you are on a jumbo). Hopefully the airline will let you on early to install the seats, but that courtesy seems to be disappearing...I don't know if this is your first trip, but have something for the kids to suck on (lollipop, bottle, etc) or drink during the descent it will help them clear their ears and maybe decongestant about an hour before the end of the flight...I know it is an unnecessary medicine, but it will help them because they dont know how to clear their ears by yawning and it could be painful.
