#135, "Choo choo wagon--I know this has been asked before"

Where can I get one? I know I've seen at least 5 posts about this in recent months, but I did a search and the only thing that came up was a choo choo wagon seatbelt question (I have no idea why the search thing never works for me!) Anyway, I know that they have stopped manufacturing them, but I remember reading that there are sites to get them, or at least an equivalant product.

Sorry to ask a question that I KNOW has been covered here, but any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance--

Okay, we got ours for Christmas from lakeshorelearning.com .The total including shipping and handling was $122.44. We had to order the seatbelts from Step2 for like $4 each. Our 11 month-olds love it. They will sit in there so much better than our JMason. The item # was GW515 and it was called the wagon train. Good Luck!

Where do you live at? Someone in my multiple group is selling one for $50.00, I'd be happy to pass along the information if you'd like.

You can email me at sandretich@yahoo.com if you are interested.

Now that I re-read the post, it reads Step 2 wagon plus tag along. I'm not positive that is the choo choo, sorry!

I also got mine from lakeshorelearning.com. I was very impressed with delivery time and I thought the cost was reasonable.

I also got a 4th car from littletikestoystore.com. It was a bit pricey ($42), but I have quads and grandma bought the whole thing for a Christmas gift. I was also very happy with turnaround from them.

I do not recommend toychute.com as they took 10 days to tell my they couldn't complete my order for the extra car and sent me a generic email with a number of different reasons why. A follow-up email asking the specific reason has yet to be answered, but I don't care anymore b/c I got my trailer from a company that provides good service.

Kaplans (sorry, don't have link right now) also has the extra car but it is $58 with shipping. They have other really cool stuff and I was able to talk to a person.

We took our choo choo wagon to see zoo lights last night for our first outing in it and the kids loved it. OMG, does it attract more attention than the RA, or what? We had fun and got lots of new and interesting comments.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to try Lakeshore. We actually have one of their stores about 5 minutes from here, so maybe I won't even have to pay shipping!

Ok, I'm a huge dork. I'm so excited to find one of those choo choo wagons that I couldn't even wait until I could get over to the store later this week. So I just bought it on-line, and again, I'm way more excited than I should be about getting this. Ah, the life of parenting triplets. Take your thrills where you can get 'em, I guess.

Thanks again!

I wouldn't worry about not being able to get to the actual store to get the choo choo wagon. We have a lakeshore learning store about 20 minutes away from us and they DO NOT carry the wagon in the store. We also had to order it from the on-line store, but oh is it worth it! I totally understand about the excitement! I could hardly wait for it to come. Unfortunately, when it did arrive, the first two cars arrived on Friday and the third car didn't come until Monday! My kids like it much better than the RA because they're not crammed so tight together and they can see around them much more. It does attract even more attention then the RA (if that's possible), though so be prepared! I'm thinking about getting the tag-along trailer from the Step 2 wagon, which you can buy separately. I read on another thread that it fits the choo choo wagon also (it's a little smaller than an extra car), and some moms are using it to carry the diaper bag/snacks and things. Sounds good to me since I HATE haveing to lug that huge diaper bag Have fun with your new purchase!

We did some experimenting with our 4 car Choo Choo Wagon and our Wagon for Two with Tag Along Trailer. Here is what we found:

You can use the Tag Along Trailer on the end of your Choo Choo Wagon. It works just fine and would be great for bags, but not so good for kids since there isn't a seat and it's pretty small. (STep2 will tell you that it's not safe, also). Also it's easier to find and I think it's less expensive than another orange trailer.

You can't use the orange Choo Choo Wagon trailer on the back of the Wagon for 2. You can hook them up, but it won't turn the way you want it to. It gets hung up.

The 4 car Choo Choo Wagon can be hard to pull up hills, especially as your kids get heavier. I had 3 of my 17 month olds (18 - 21 pounds each) and my 3 year old (29 pounds) in the wagon. I don't see me pulling it around our hilly zoo too much when the babies are 3 but it was fine for now and will be great for the neighborhood and going to the park.

oooh, oooh, oooh! I'm so excited - I just ordered this from Lakeshore learning and can't wait to get it! Not that we'll be able to use it for a while, but it looks like so much fun. lol I also bought that darn crocodile teeter totter a while back and it's being stored in our shed. Our trio is only 4 1/2 months old. lol When I hear of a good thing, I want to make sure I have it when they are ready!
