#1456, "Any tips for back aches"

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas I can pass on to my neice who is having quite a bit of back pain and can't get comfortable? Is there anything she can do to help?

Thanks,

Clare

Maybe warm towels or a heating pad?

I had been diagnosed with herniated discs before I got pregnant. I was worried about my back going out during the pregnancy. I talked to my doctor about this, and she gave me a referral for a physical therapist. The PT specialized in pregnant women. She gave me some simple exercises to do and gave me massages and heat therapy. She also tried to get me to get into the pool - that didn't happen. I could just visualize their other clients screaming and running out of the building

If her back pain gets bad, you might consider this as an option. It was covered by our insurance.

Good luck!

I got this tip from another triplet mommy, so now I always pass it on because it worked SO great for me! Get a NEW tube sock, fill it with rice and put it in the microwave and place it on your back. Heating pads also work, but I found the sock "conforms" to the bend(s) of your back much better! HTH!
