Ok, I have previously posted about cranky kids, not napping, etc. and some moms have suggested and/or mentioned that their children loved their blankies. I thought it was not safe to have them sleep with blankets.

My DH and I each had our own favorite blankies when we were little. Can I go ahead and give them a stuffed animal or blankie at nap time???

I dont know if i'd do a stuffed animal just yet, but i know that one of my boys likes to sleep with a receiving blanket. he takes it and rubs his cheek with it or pulls it over his face. He started this on his own out of the blue.

As long as its not a thick blanket it MAY be ok. I dont mind doing it now with my ds because he rolls all over the crib anyway and turns onto his stomach, so regardless he could get any blanket.

They make really small "lovies" called Comfort Silkies that are only about 12 inches by 12 inches. They are flannel on one side and silky on the other and have a satin border on both sides. We let our little ones sleep with similar ones since birth.
