#180, "Edward (Naperville, IL) Hospital Peri's"

Hello all,

I couple weeks back I made a post looking for Chicago area recommendations. We're at about 12 weeks and still looking for a hospital and a perinatal specialist. Luckily we've got a very good peri to fill the gap, but he's associated with a hospital not covered by our insurance. We're starting to lean towards Edward, but are not familiar with any of the peri's that deliver there.

Can anyone help us out with recommendations for Edward doctors (or bad experiences with any Edward doctors).

Thanks much.

P.S. -- This board is a godsend. I don't know how you "old-timers" pulled it off in the pre-internet days.

I am in Chicago, and went to Evanston Hospital and their MAternal Fetal Medicine practice and was quite pleased with them.

We also went through Evanston and were very pleased with them. Great group of Dr's at the Maternal Fetal Group and in the NICU.

Mike - I e-mailed your wife info about the local group -- I got an auto response that she would be out of the office until the 3rd (or something like that). A number of moms in our group delivered at Edward and I would be happy to give her their e-mails, etc. Just let me know! kunster@aol.com

Congratulations. I stayed with my regular OB in Park Ridge and they were wonderful. They are affiliated with Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL, who has an awsome NICU. The Hospital itself is wonderful and there was not a day that I did not feel overtreated. They gave me amazing care throughout our pregnancy. There is also a perinatal practice a couple floors up from my doctor so if they ever needed to involve them with my pregnancy, they were just a hop, skip, jump away (which was never the case until I was hospitalized for mild contractions). I know it is kind of a hike from Naperville, but it might be worth the journey. Good luck and let me know if you would like the name of my OB.

P.S. - the office is also located at the hospital which is great if there should be an emergency.
