I'm going to a convention there in March and am wondering if there are any hotels to avoid. I'm looking at the Ramada Limited, the Wingate and others. I'd like to have a pool and comp. breakfast. If anyone has info about a good place to stay, please let me know.

Also - is anyone going to the Hearts and Home, Moms: Impacting Lives 24/7 convention there?

I used to live in Peoria but I'm not really familiar with the hotels in Bloomington. You may just want to call ahead and make reservations to make sure there is no other events going on for the college that weekend. Have fun!

Hi!
My brother-in-law lives in Bloomington Normal, I'll email him to get good hotel recommendations. If you don't mind me asking, how much money do you want to spend a nite. When we went there for his wedding a year and a half ago we stayed in the Comfort Inn. It was cheap but a fine accomodation and they had continental breakfast, but no pool.

I'll let you know what he says.

Just got an email from my brother-in-law. He said both of the hotels you are looking at are nice and he also recommended the Eastland Suites and the Holiday Inn in Normal.

He didn't say about the pool or continental breakfast though, I guess he knows they are nice but not of their ammenities.

Thanks for taking the time to ask Jami! I'll check those out. I know you're usually safe going w/ the big name chains, but you just never know. And there's nothing I hate more than being stuck in a nasty hotel!

BTW - we're trying to be economical, but not Motel 6 cheap - LOL. $75 or so a night would be in our range.
