#2531, "Having surgery and need prayers please!"
|
I will be having spine surgery in mid-February for scoliosis. I have been battling this for years and years, but the curvature has gotten worse and causes alot of pain. Thankfully, we have been able to wait until my boys are a little older. Lately I have been trying to get them to get out of their carseats by themselves. Not something that I wanted them to do, but I won't be able to do it. Due to surgery itself and other health issues I have there are risks. Please pray for me and that surgery goes well. I will have a long recovery and hopefully the boys will understand not to jump or hang on mom. Thanks so much for your thoughts & prayers!

Korrie, I'm thinking they will be understanding. They can get into their carseats by themselves and get the 5 point harnessess buckled in, the only thing the have problems with is sometimes getting them unbuckled. My daughter is a huge help, but I drive the boys to and from school and shopping when she is in school. We have a suburban and the dr has said absolutely no lifting, bending or twisting for at least 6 months. They will be fusing my spine so I have to make sure the fusion heals well. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Hello, I just had a spinal fusion in Dec(18). My Dr. fused 3 of my verts. and removed 2 disc. Im doing pretty good, I have to wear a brace for about 12 weeks, with no lifting! My babies are almost 3(will be in march). I wish you a speedy recovery, and I will say a prayer for you as well. If you would like to you can P.M. me!

Angel, all the best to you for a swift and comfortable recovery from your operation .
My twins also have trouble with hand strength getting the buckles opened; I wonder if there is some kind of tool they could use, maybe a spoon or something, to press down on it? Hmm...might try that with my guys too...

Angel,
Prayers and thoughts of strength coming your way. Please post a reminder when surgery gets closer, I can understand that this is scary. Hopefully it will make you more comfortable in the long run.
