#2619, "STROLLER-NEED ADVICE ON GOOD ONES"

Hello Everyone~ Calling all experienced Mommy's in the stroller department. I currently have 5month old ggb born 8/22/03) and have been using the triple-decker stroller which I love!!! But now 2 of the babies are outgrowing their infant car-seats and its time to move onto the next level. I am torn between the Run-About, the Peg-Perego and the JMason Quad Stroller (I figure with this one I could use the 4th seat for my diaper bag and extra storage space when we go to the mall for a stoll). I want to get one that will last since they are so very expensive. Looking for Pro's and Con's on all or if there is a stroller that I have not listed that is a good one. I take lots of walks around my neighborhood and also walk the local mall so I really use my stroller alot and need a very sturdy one. I want the seats to recline somewhat if we are out and it's nap time and I need a canopy for strong sun protection since I live in Arizona. I would like it to fold to fit in the back of my mini-van and I think I have been told the Runabout would need to go on the back on a hitch.(which I can do if I chose this stoller) Can't wait to hear the advice!! thank you! Nicole~
I am on my 2nd J Mason Triple. It is inexpensive and it works. It is NOT the best but if you're only looking to go to the mall and for short walks it does it's job. The newer model is built better & has a basket underneath. I wouldn't recommend the Quad unless you have 4 children close in age/weight. My friend has the Quad (she has 1yo Quads) and although she is happy with it, I can manuever my triple easier than she can her quad. Hers is wide while mine is long. She gets stuck in aisles & doorways where I don't. This is the one I have now... http://www.dmart2000.com/dmart2/jmastripstro.html My previous model did not have a basket underneath & it was blue. I know Tasha has a HUGE great info post somewhere on here about the Pros & Cons of all the strollers. I used to have a Dodge Stratus and this stroller fit in the trunk. I have a minivan now so it obviously fits in there too. HTH!

We have the triplet Baby Jogger and love it. The only downfall is that it does not fold down well, so it is pretty hard to transport. We used umbrella strollers or wagons when travelling. Just my two cents though. My girls have now outgrown our stroller, so I am bummed. That was my exercise in the summer. Lori

Runabout runabout runabout- can you tell I love mine. I had a babytrend and never went anywhere-not even around the block. We were lucky to get the runabout for 100 dollars used. Cleaned it up and I can walk in my very hilly neighborhood no problem. It takes corners like a dream, all the girls can see, and it fits in the back of my full size van with the handles taken out. I love it- my vote is for the runabout- happy shopping!!!

Hi Nicole, My babies are just a couple weeks older than yours (and have also outgrown their infant seats). We found a baby trend for $50 and a peg perego for $250 at garage sales. I don't love the baby trend - it folds down nice, but it's not very easy to manuever. I do love the peg. I don't have anything else to compare it to, but it is easy enough to steer (my model is older and doesn't have swivel wheels) and fits in the back of my trailblazer. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about a runabout though - other than the looks of them - so maybe they are better. I figured that saving a bunch of money was my best bet so I went w/ the peg we found.

Hi Nicole, I have both a 2002 Peg Perego and a used Runabout so I'll give you my two cents. I have had the Peg since the babies were newborns and love it because it is a very comfortable stroller for the babies, the seats are nicely cushined they also recline easily, and it has the individual canopies that completly cover each seat. The Peg also has a really nice storage compartment that covers the length of the bottom of the stroller and it is easy to transport since you can fold it down and all of the seats come off. My babies are 14 months old now and the Peg has gotten harder to push, it's fine for flat ground but if you are going up hills or heavy terrain, it would be very difficult to push. We just got the used Runabout as a gift for Christmas and the Runabout is a breaze to push. You can pretty much go over any terrain without a problem and going up hills is easy also. In an ideal world I would have both, the Peg for indoor outings or outdoor where you are not going up hills or anything and the Runabout for heavy terrain outings. I personally can't imagine taking the Runabout to the mall or anything, it's a lot bigger then the Peg with the huge tires and it seems longer with the canopy on top. Also the Runabout does not fold down so it is harder to transport. Maybe it's not bad taking it to an indoor outing, I have not had to use it for that and don't plan to. Anyway, I hope that helps, they are both great strollers. I think it just depends on personal preference and what kind of outings you see your self doing with the babies. If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to help!
