My ex is getting remarried. I don't know a lot of the details. I've talked to his fiancee only a few times. My girls really seem to like her a lot. The girls are with my ex and his fiancee this week in St. Louis, which is where she lives. (We live in Kentucky) I am guessing that anytime anyone is dealing with a step-person in the picture there is some jealousy. I am having a hard time with the fact that when the girls are out with her people assume they are hers. I don't like that idea. It bothers me.

Sorry you are going through this! While I am not divorced and do not have the stepmom to my kids situation, I do have the experience of being a child of divorce with a stepmom. I just wanted to say that the absolute best thing my mom ever did was let me love my stepmom. She allowed me to bond with her and do special things with her. I'm sure she felt threatened, but my mom never let me know it. The result: I have a great relationship with both of them. And no one can replace my mom .

I will add that my stepmom was also awesome about respecting my mom. Never talked badly about her. Never encouraged me to vent about her. Never, ever tried to compete.
