#383622, "HCG levels at 5 wk mark"

I was wondering if you´re willing to share your HCG levels when you were 5 wks pregnant? my BF recently had IVF, they implanted 3 embryos on oct 4th, they measured her HCG today (5 wks pregnant, 17 days post implantation) and it was 7,000. Her dr. has told her he expects multiples, but will confirm on the 6 wk ultrasound.

I never measured my HCG levels since I found I was pregnant with an ultrasound showing twins.

Thanks!

I don't remember the "weeks" pg I was, but 14 dpo (days post ovulation/ transfer), mine was 881 or so. So even if I doubled every 2-3 days, she's well ahead of me, so perhaps it's multiples. Oooo... what fun! Congratulations to her!

I kept a detailed log. My Beta/HCG level at 5 weeks/4days was 5807 so she should definitely plan on multiples. She is ahead of me if she is just 5 weeks. Best of luck to your friend and keep us all posted!

I had two sets of identicals in the beginning (lost one around 8 weeks). Anyway, I can't remember the exact days, but mine were 317, 624 and 1700. All taken every other day. It sounds like she has a lot cooking in there. I had 4 and my levels weren't so high, but mine may have just split. I would be interested to here what she has in there. Please let us know.

My HCG level at around that time was also around 7000. When I went for a 6 week ultrasound the doctor seemed almost scared to look when she heard how high my HCG level had been. 4 embryos had implanted but only 3 had heartbeats.
It sounds like your friend could be having triplets.

My beta levels were:
11dpo HCG= 96; 13dpo HCG= 315; 18dpo HCG= 1800
So at 5 weeks (21dpo) mine would have been about 5400.
Sure sounds like multiples! Maybe one split! Let us know what happens!

Okay, I just looked up my hcg numbers on my blog and mine were:

16dpo (4 weeks) - 915
22dpo (5 weeks) - 20,701
26dpo (almost 6 weeks) - 68,000

On the same day mine was 68,000 they saw 3 gestational sacs, only 2 yolk sacs and no heartbeats. It wasn't for almost another week that they saw all 3 heartbeats.

Does she have any of her earlier results? From what I have read, the early beta results are the best predictor of multiples.

At 14 dpt my levels were 769 & at 16 dpt they were 2609. We didn't do any other betas after that point but had we done so then at 17 dpt which is the same as your friend, it would have been around 11,000. My betas were doubling every 1.7 days.

With my girls my numbers were:

14dpIUI - 1800
18dpIUI - 5800

And I originally had quads

Good luck to her and keep us updated!

Did she have a 3 day transfer or 5 day transfer? Because if she is 17 days post transfer then she would either be 20dpt or 22dpt.

I only remember the first set of bloodwork done. My HCG was 267 and my progesterone was 108. I was originally pregnant with quints. I had 4 follicles and 1 split.

9dpt5dt was 512

When my RE called me to tell me I was pregnant he said "I am pretty sure you have all 3 embryos took. This is the highest beta I have ever seen!"

2 days later it was 1200 and then a week later it was 12000! At 5 weeks we saw 3 sacs, 6 weeks, 3 HBs!

Good luck, sounds like she has trips to me! Oh boy!
