#485833, "Straw cups that don't leak?"

My GGG trio are 20 months. We use straw cups and I am having a hard time finding one that I like, especially for use outside of the high chairs where the mess is more of an issue. I personally hate the cups with valves that are "no spill" because it seems like most of them are impossible to drink out of. The Munchkin flip top ones are okay and don't leak, except my kids have learned they can blow into the straw and cause a nice fountain effect since there is no air outlet.

We also use the Nuby flip top ones with no valve but the lids start to leak over time, and the Take and Toss cups are nice until they learned to pull the straws out and shake the liquid all over.

Probably the obvious solution is to train my kids to be less obnoxious and stop making messes on purpose, but short of this miracle does anyone have a favorite straw cup they use??

Thanks!

Tupperware Impressions. They work great! A little pricey but ours have lasted probably 5 years now and look and work like new.

I LOVE the tupperware cups too, pricey but worth the money. They are durable and only have two parts--the cup and lid, since you use disposable straws. All four of my kids (including my almost-7yo) drink out of these at every meal.

However, I'm not sure this is what the original poster is asking for? The tupperware cups are impressively un-leaky, in that they seal around the straw, but they do leak out the end of the straw if they are tipped over while full. I don't let my kids use them away from the table for this reason. If my kids are not at the table they all still drink out of hard sippy cups (if the liquid is not water) or water bottles (usually in the car or when they are on outings).

We used the Munchkin straw cups without the flip top because the straw on the inside of the flip top ones is on the opposite side than it is on the outside so they could never get it empty. Those lids have an air outlet and we only had fountains a handful of times in the 9 months they used them before we switched to the hard spout Playtex Sipsters that only leak a little when the kids bang them upside down on the table. I love the Playtex cups.

I haven't found one although we do use the playtex sippies, and the training hasn't worked particularly well for me either. My kids are 3 1/2 and if they aren't blowing into them, suck the water up and just spit it out. I hand them the paper towel or a sponge and have them clean it. Some things they can't do, cleaning up these messes after themselves isn't one of them.
