Odd article. Written as if she never before had to take care of the kids on her own. Perhaps she was using a little poetic licence (also known as exaggerating for effect).

Or maybe she went back to work directly after having her kids and has never had to care for them for an entire week on her own. See it's not doing it for one or two days in a row that makes it hard---it's doing it day in and day out every single day with no sick days and no days off.

I also agree that it was odd, like she was babysitting someone else's kids instead of watching her own! And when she wrote that she was doing a SAHM experiment I thought it would be for a few months or a year... was it a week or not even? Strange.

Either poetic license or she never has taken care of her kids and needs more practice.

I won't be working outside the home for the first time ever when these babies are born and I never imagined what it would be like being SAHM...probably because I never imagined having triplets! I've never been around a SAHM but I do know I'm in for the hardest job I'll ever have and I honestly can't wait.

What gets me is the misconception about money and staying at home. Before I left my job I was making more than DH, but being a career military man he's obligated to his service so it made sense for me to be the SAH parent. We'll make it work. We won't be the first couple to live on one income and certainly won't be the last.

I will say that I am quite entertained by the comments on the blog post.

While I agree that you sometimes have to "pick your battles", I think the author would be a little more successful if she picked a few more. Then, she might be able to grocery shop with 2 children and serve lunch at lunchtime.
